This week on Lake Okeechobee the weather and fishing has been great. We are now in a summer time patterns and the shad spawn on the North end of the Lake is just about over now.
The fishing is pretty good the first couple of hours in the morning with the best baits being Spinnerbaits (WarEagle 1/2 oz. in White, Mouse or Chart/Mouse), Swim Jigs (Strike King 3/8oz or 1/2 oz. in Black/Blue, Brown or White). After 10:00 or so try flipping the Pencil Grass and the Kissimmee Grass with a Craw Worm. Good areas to try are the lilly pads in the Pass, 3rd point to 4th point and Bird Island on the west end of the lake. Here is a picture of Keith with a fish he caught with me this week.
