Aug 12 – Aug 17, 2014 Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing Report

This week on Lake Okeechobee the winds have been light and in the afternoons we have been having some pretty bad thunderstorms. The water temp was in the high 80’s to low 90’s. The water clarity on the East side of the lake is bad with all the wind and thunderstorms. The water clarity on the North end is good and the West end of the lake has a lot of red water now.
The best bait this week in the morning has been a Lunker Lure Buzz Bait. Black has been the best color and when that bite is over use a Strike King (1/2oz) Swim Jig in White or Black/Blue with a Reaction Innovation Skinny Dipper in the same colors as a trailer. Fish them on the outside of the Kissimmee Grass Points. After the morning bite is over, flip the Pencil Grass with a Gambler (1oz) Jigzilla with a Gambler Mega Daddy in Shadow Blue. Good areas to fish are Kings Bar, Tin House and the Harney Pond area.
