It was the week of the full moon on Lake Okeechobee and the winds have been out of the North-North/East at 5-10 mph. The water temp high has been 69 degrees. The water clarity on the East side of the lake is fair if you go way back into cattails and fish the smaller ponds. The North end of the lake is pretty good and the West end of the lake looks good as well.
The Shiner fishing is still the best way to catch them. I am catching over 30 fish on each charter this week. On the artificial side, Buzz Frogs and Swim Baits have been good this week as well as fishing a Senko and a Fluke in the back waters. Flipping a Gambler BB Cricket in Black/Blue in the Penny wart and Water Hyacinth has been good too. Good areas to fish are Taylor Creek, Little Grassy, The Pass and the Lakeport area of the lake.
Here is a picture of a couple of fish that I caught this week. You can check the water levels of Lake Okeechobee at www.okeechobeejust4bass.com.
