Independently Owned & Operated, Lake Okeechobee Professional Bass Guide Service

This week on Lake Okeechobee the winds have been light and mostly from the South – South/East at 5-10 mph. We are in a good warming trend and the bigger fish are showing up every day. The water temp in the afternoon is up to 75 degrees. The water clarity on the East side of the lake is still bad on the outside grass lines but if you go back into the ponds it’s much better. The North end is good and the West end of the lake is a little muddy but you are still able to catch fish in it.

The best bite is still with wild shiners. My clients are catching 30 fish in a 4 hour charter. On the artificial side Topwaters, Spinnerbaits, Senko’s and Flukes have been doing well. The best colors are Black/Blue and Watermelon/ Red. Good areas to fish are J&S, Little Grassy, The Pass and the Lake Port area of the lake.
Here is a picture of Billy Menchak from Troy, IL with a 7lb fish which he caught on a Gambler Burner Worm.
