This week on Lake Okeechobee the winds have been light and mostly from the South East at 5 -10 mph. We are in a good warming trend and with the week of the full moon the bigger fish are showing up every day now. The water temp in the afternoon is up to 73 degrees and the water clarity on the East side of the lake is a lot better than last week. The North end of the lake is good and the West end of the lake is pretty good as well.
The best bite is still with Wild Shiners. I am catching over 30 fish with shiners in a 4 hour charter with a couple of big ones. This week my clients have caught at least a 7lbs fish this week. On the artificial side topwaters, Spinnerbaits, Senko’s and Flukes are the best baits to use. The best color are Black/Blue and Watermelon/Red. Good areas to fish are J&S, The Pass and Lakeport area of the lake.
