The past 2 weeks on Lake Okeechobee has been some great fishing. The winds have been from the East to Northeast for the most part and the water temps have been in the low 70’s and we have had good water clarity throughout the lake.
The best bait is still shiners but the artificial fishing has been good too. Topwater and a Speed Worm have been the main baits the last couple of weeks on the grass flats and fishing a Senko with no weight has produce some nice fish also. Good areas to fish are Grassy Island, Kings Bar, Tin House and the Lakeport area of the lake. Here is a picture of me with a couple of fish that I caught this week.
