The last couple of weeks on Lake Okeechobee the fishing has been good even with the cold fronts that have been here. The winds have been North to North/East up to 20 mph and the water temp is in the low to mid 60’s. The water clarity is not bad on the west end of the lake but the other ends of the lake are not good.
The best bait is still wild shiners. Now on the artificial side there is a good spinnerbait bite and good success with a speed worm in junebug, just keep moving around until you find a group of fish then fish them hard. Good areas to fish is the Pass, Grassy island and the west end of the lake. You can check the water levels of Lake Okeechobee at www.okeechobeejust4bass.com.
