This week on Lake Okeechobee the winds have been light and mostly from the south and the water temp has been in the high 80’s to low 90’s. The water clarity on the west side of the lake is good with about a foot and a half of visibility. There also is a little bit of red water around the Harney Pond area and the north end of the lake has good visibility.
South of the J&S ramp there is an algae bloom, but from J&S north to Henry Creek the water has good visibility. The Best Baits this week in the morning has been the 1/2 oz Strike King Black/Blue or White Swim Jig with a Reaction Innovation Skinny Dipper in the same colors. Fish them on the outside of long Kissimmee Grass points. After the morning bite is over I have been flipping the Pencil Grass with some good results. The Gambler (1oz) Jigzilla in Black/Blue with a Gambler Mega Daddy trailer in Shadow Blue. Good Areas to fish are Kings Bar, Little Grassy and J&S.
