This week on Lake Okeechobee the winds have been from the S to SW at 5-10mph in the morning but then dies down around 10:00. The water temp is in the high 80’s to low 90’s throughout the day. The water clarity on the East side of the lake is fair and the West end and North is good. The water in the Belle Glade area of the lake looks great!
The Best Bait in the morning this week was the Strike King Swim Jig (1/2 oz.) Black/Blue or White with a Reaction Innovation Skinny Dipper in the same colors. Fish them on the outside of the Kissimmee Grass points and concentrate on the isolated Pencil Grass mix in the Kissimmee Grass. After the morning bite is over, flipping the Pencil Grass has been good with a Gambler (1 oz.) Jigzilla in Black/Blue with a Gambler Mega Daddy trailer in Shadow Blue. Look for the areas with deeper water on them. Good Areas to fish are Kings Bar, Little Grassy and J&S.
