The last couple of weeks on Lake Okeechobee the fishing has been pretty good. The water has come up some more. It is now 12.69ft and all the locks are open now. The winds have been form the South / East 5-10 mph and the water temp is now in the low 90’s. The water clarity is good throughout the lake but there is some algae on the East / South East side of the lake.
The morning bite is pretty good in the Kissimmee grass with a white swim jig. I have been able to stretch this pattern out to 10:00 or so. After that I have been Flipping a Brown 1oz. jig in the Pencil reeds. Good areas to fish are J&S, Kings Bar, 4th point and the Lakeport area of the lake.
