This week on Lake Okeechobee the fishing has been fantastic. You can almost go anywhere and catch fish. The winds have been light and from the South/East for the most part. The water temp is in the upper 80’s and the water clarity is good throughout the lake. There is some black water around the month of canals and creeks but you can still catch fish in it.
The best bait this week was a white swim jig and a spook in the morning in the Kissimmee grass. Then when the morning bite is over I have been Flipping a green pumpkin 1oz. jig in the Pencil Reeds. Good areas to fish are J&S, Kings Bar, 4th point and the Lakeport area of the lake. You also can check the water level of Lake Okeechobee at www.okeechobeejust4bass.com.
