This week on Lake Okeechobee the winds have been from the South/East 5-10 mph and the water temp is in the high 80’s now. The water clarity on the east side of the lake is good. The North end is OK and the West end of the lake is muddy with all the South/East winds this week.
This week the best bait in the morning is still a white Spinnerbait and a white swim jig, both in 1/2 oz. size. You have to move pretty fast until you find the fish. This bite will not last very long…it was over by 07:30. After the morning bite is over I have been Flipping/Pitching a 1oz. Gambler Jigzilla jig in Black/Blue. The water had dropped a lot and it is so surprising how shallow these fish will get into. I have been fishing in less than a foot and a half of water.
