This week on Lake Okeechobee the wind has been from the south up to 15 mph and the water temp is in the high 80’s now. You can catch up to 30 fish the first thing in the morning on the outside kissimmee grass.
The best baits to use is a War Eagle Spinnerbait and a Strike King Swim Jig in White or Black/Blue. Then after the outside bite is over, I move into the middle ground and flip a 1oz. Gambler Jigzilla in Black/Blue with a Gambler Mega Daddy trailer in Shadow Blue. The fish are pretty scattered now and you just have to cover a lot of water. Good areas now are the east side of the of the lake (the water clarity is pretty good now) and the shoal. Fish either side depending on the wind direction.
