This week on Lake Okeechobee the winds have been 5-10 mph from the North/Northeast all week and the water temp high was 69 degrees. This is the week of the full moon so the big ones will be rolling in. The water clarity on the East side of the lake is still not great but the North end is good and the west end is OK. The best looking water I have found this week was the Money Box area of the lake.
The Shiner fishing is the best thing going on right now. I am catching over 30 bass fishing in a 4 hour charter and have had some better fish up to 5lbs. On the artificial side, the Best Bait was a Spinnerbait and a Speed Worm. In the morning fish these baits in the open water where there is hydrilla in a little deeper water. In the afternoon I have been flipping Penney Wart and Water Hyacinth with a (1oz .) Gambler Craw Daddy in Black/Blue. Good areas to fish area Little Grassy, Kings Bar, and Indian Prairie.
