This week on Lake Okeechobee the winds have been out of the North/Northeast at 5-10 mph. We are still getting the afternoon rain. The water clarity on the lake is good all over the lake but it is just dark with all of the run off from the rain. The water temp is in the low 80’s.
This week the best bait in the morning is still the white swim jig. There is still a lot of fish on any Kissimmee grass you find. A white spinnerbait is good too, if you have some wind this week you could do this up to 10:00 or so. We have a new moon this week so keep a eye on the back areas that are open for some spawning fish. Good areas to fish are Grassy Island, King Bar and North Shore.
